"集瓊藻" is the name of a curio box belongs to the Qing dynasty's Qianlong emperor. This emperor had a huge collection of the finest Chinese handcrafts and jewelries. The materials used in these items include a wide variety of materials: gold, silver, semi-precious stone, bamboo, wood, ivory, horn, and inkstone. They are often skillfully combined with bronzes, porcelain, and jades. With many different ancient Chinese techniques, these objects truly reflect the diverse beauty of Chinese arts and crafts.
The National Palace Museum is a place I must visit every time when I come back to Taiwan. Luckily this is a permanent exhibit that I can see again and again.
